Our delightful bungalow Casa Limão is located in the beautiful village of Azinhal, a picturesque village in the rolling hills of the Eastern Algarve.

The village is surrounded by hiking trails and is located near the border of the river Rio Guadiana. 10 minutes away, in the nature reserve of Sapo and the salt flats, is the town of Castro Marim. In addition to castles and flamingos, you will also find two beautiful golf courses in this beautiful nature reserve. Less than 5 minutes further you are in the lively but still authentic seaside resort of Vila Real de Santo Antonio with its big marina. For enthusiasts, the wide sandy beach of Monte Gordo can also be reached within 20 minutes. If you fancy Spanish tapas, you are in 15 minutes across the bridge in the typical Spanish town of Ayamonte. Even the beautiful Spanish city of Seville can be reached within 1.5 hours.

Our favorite day out  is to drive up the river and visit the beautifully situated river towns of Alcoutim and Mertola, with a stopover at Bar O Rio in Guerreiros do Rio, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee with a view of the sailing boats.

The central location of the village of Azinhal is a perfect base to visit this beautiful part of the Eastern Algarve. Whether you walk, cycle or prefer to go out by car, you will enjoy a holiday as it is meant to be!
